Personal Description:
I have taught for over ten years, I have taught a range of ages and learning styles including students with sight and hearing difficulties as well as those with learning difficulties.
I am outgoing and friendly, I am able to communicate easily and with success to a broad audience base.
students seem to respond favourably to my lessons and all tutees have progressed to attain their personal goals.
I love theatre, cooking and reading. I also want to keep chickens!
Teaching Experience:
as a dyslexic my self I have sought to engage at a deeper level with my students so they can see clearly how to achieve their goals. I have taught in schools , in units, in special schools and colleges, so have worked with a rainbow of students and so can think clearly how to alter and adapt my teaching style and resources to enable the student.
I have lived in Cities and in rural locations so am aware of the joys and difficulties the situation can impact on a learner. I have taught in inner city Bristol with a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds as well as a range of first languages. I have also taught in Devon where the school is comprised of students whom not only themselves but all their forebears have lived only in this place.
I create my own resources to stretch and support learning. I am able to give clear and enabling feedback.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe it is innate in all to explore and learn, as a teacher I must find the key to the students curiosity to help them understand their strengths and so progress. I work at the students pace, pulling them further and higher to achieve.
I will adapt my resources to enable the student to engage.
