Personal Description:
Hi, I am Lola. I was born in Córdoba, but I have lived in Granada, Canterbury (UK) and Los Angeles. I enjoy traveling, trying local cuisines and meeting people from different countries. This is one of the reasons why I love teaching Spanish so much, because I get to know students from all over the world. The rest is explained by my passion for grammar and linguistics.
Teaching Experience:
I have more than 3 years of experience teaching languages at different levels. In Los Angeles, I was teaching undergraduate students the intermediate and advanced courses of Spanish Conversation at Occidental College. Before that, I have done corporate language training at Euroinnova Bussiness School, Granada (Spain), and online teaching to adults (Verbling).
Tutoring Approach:
I like to adapt the lessons to the needs of the student. For beginners, I recommend to keep a balance of all the skills, e.g. reading a short text, talking about it, doing grammar exercises..etc. For advanced students, I recommend focusing on the oral production, e.g. by discussing current affairs by commenting real article from the news.
Moreover, I consider myself a patient and open-minded person.When teaching languages, many topics arise and I like to listen to people's opinions withour judging and always keeping the focus on the language.
