Aman - Bradford tutor
Information About Aman:
Personal Description:
I am a postgraduate student of English Literature with a First Class BA Honours, and I am currently working towards my Research Masters degree. I have always had a natural passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of English Literature, from Shakespeare to Dickens to Roald Dahl, and I am eager to share my love for reading with the next generation.
In an age where reading has become secondary to social media and technology, I think it is vital that children are reintroduced to the value of literature. A strong focus on reading will significantly improve a child's skills in literacy and comprehension, as well as develop their knowledge, vocabulary and confidence. I believe that my positivity and passion, combined with my talent for English literature, will enable your child to thrive at a young age and pave their way to a wonderful and enriched education.
Teaching Experience:
I do school intervention work in many schools across the Yorkshire area. I have worked with young children in a number of primary schools in West Yorkshire, to develop an understanding of how children learn and of how the education system works. I have learnt that every child is an individual, and this is why I want to give a child my undivided attention with one-to-one tuition.
I have always leaned towards primary teaching as I am naturally engaging with younger children and enjoy making learning fun for the child. I have experimented with various learning techniques on friends' and family members' children, which have proven to be very successful.
I am a tutor with a drive to make this career my life and introduce your child to the realms of imagination that literature can provide.
Tutoring Approach:
I tutor with the philosophy that if you enjoy something you do well. My aim is to make my lessons fun, engaging, unique, and often spontaneous, with a clear and focused goal in mind. I can communicate on all levels, making it easy for me to explain to the child and the parent why we are learning what we are. I believe that if a child knows why it is beneficial for them to partake in tuition, they can fully understand its purpose, and want to advance.
My lessons will not just be reading based; we will create stories, build up literacy and comprehension skills, and develop an invaluable understanding of historical authors. The skills gained through my tuition can be carried forward into secondary education, which is vital now more than ever following the new changes to GCSE English Language, which now requires an ability to understand and analyse literary texts, as well as challenging nineteenth century texts.
As difficult as it may be to admit at times, parents often do not have time to sit and read with their children, which is why reading is often neglected. But, by fitting my lessons into your child's routine, there is no doubt that they will become avid readers and grow into intelligent and well-read individuals.
