Personal Description:

I'm a qualified, experienced English tutor from the UK. I have held a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification since 2004. I love language and linguistics and I have a fascination with different cultures and how language and culture are closely connected. My BA degree was in French and Italian Studies, so I have a good knowledge of both languages. From living in Israel, I have a basic knowledge of Hebrew.

I enjoy reading, watching drama series on TV. I also like lots of different types of music, and art, especially photography.



Teaching Experience:

For over 10 years, I have taught in well-respected language schools in New Zealand and Israel, as well as privately, and have had many students of all backgrounds, levels and ages. I am currently based in Bristol, UK, where I teach privately.



Tutoring Approach:

Communication, for me and for the majority of people, is the most important aspect of language learning. You have to use it to learn it. So I encourage my students to build confidence in using English by bringing in a wide variety of materials and tools in order to practice the language as it is used in real life. Of course, if the student needs guidance on a particular area for a specific purpose such as exam preparation, I tailor my lesson accordingly. My lessons are relaxed, interesting and relevant to real language usage.

I have had many very satisfied students with whom I have developed a great relationship, because I challenge and motivate my students, but most importantly, we have fun!
