Personal Description:
CELTA QUALIFIED AND PASSIONATE ABOUT TEACHING
I'm a qualified CELTA English tutor based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
I also have an Advanced qualification in teaching Business English.
For years I worked in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant. I worked with directors and partners in several top global companies. Now I have chosen to teach Business English, I am able to use my past work-experience to help my students.
I've had the privilege of providing English lessons for speakers of other languages in the Staffordshire area from my home in Newcastle-under-Lyme and I'm immensely proud of the progress they've made whilst we've been working together.
Working from the comfort and privacy of my own home in Newcastle-under-Lyme, I offer English lessons for speakers of other languages in a welcoming and relaxed environment on a one-to-one basis.
This means we can work at a pace that suits you - not the pace of an overcrowded classroom.
Born in the UK, I have a clear and easy to understand accent and possess the qualifications and experience needed to help you learn English or Business English.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught students from all over the world, including Poland, Slovakia, China, Turkey, Italy and Thailand. I currently teach Tomas, a design engineer, Marek, a senior engineer, Danilo, a project manager and Nang from Thailand who I helped obtain enough English to apply for a Visa for the UK and get married. She then moved to England and I'm helping her again with English for her current job.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that learning should be fun. Smiles and laughter have a big part in my lessons. I think building confidence and providing reassuring feedback is vital. It's also important to find out exactly where my students need help and to provide lessons which assist them best. I use lesson plans from two different providers, Linguahouse and Off2Class. Each lesson is reviewed, either through a gapfill exercise (Linguahouse) or through homework (Off2class).
My training has also enabled me to provide bespoke lessons which I have created myself. With business English, for example, I have helped with presentations and emails. I have also helped students re-write their CVs.
I have helped students practice for IELTS, using genuine example tests.
Every lesson starts and ends with a conversation session. I consider myself well-prepared and professional but friendly and with a good sense of humour as well!
