Personal Description:

Hi there,

I have been a Primary School Teacher for over 6 years and have taught all primary ages during that time. In my most recent teaching role I taught years 4-6 but am confident teaching ks1 and 2. I have lots of experience working both as a class teacher but also in small, focused groups and 1:1 and always build excellent relationships with my pupils. I love my job and seeing children grow and flourish is a real priviledge. Before becoming a teacher I worked as an actress, singer and dancer primarily working in Children's Theatre. I then became a TA between acting jobs and loved working with young people so much I trained to become a fully qualified teacher and haven't looked back. Due to my experience in performing arts, I have written and directed many plays for children and use drama in my teaching to make sure it is animated and fun- particularly when teaching very young children. My passion is Literacy and I enjoy reading and writing for pleasure as well as teaching these subjects. My current role is working as a personal tutor for Primary aged children and I also run my own children's theatre classes for toddlers up to 11 year olds, where I teach drama, singing and dancing.

-Extensive phonics training.

- 2 years of experience running SATs clubs (after school and during the holidays) to prepare children in year 6 for their exams

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that children learn in many different ways and 'one size doesn't fit all', therefore my teaching approach is very personal and involves getting to know each individual, understanding their stengths and what they enjoy as well as highlighting quickly any barriers to their learning. This approach has led to excellent progress for my pupils who enjoy their learning and are highly motivated to reach their goals. Learning should be enjoyable and I offer a caring, fun style of tutoring which aims to inspire and support your child to realise their potential.
