Personal Description:
I have a sound industrial and educational background having worked in the mining, construction, health & social care and logistics sectors as a trainer, assessor and verifier.
Living close to the M5 I find myself well placed to cover a reasonable geographical area quite effectively.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught chemistry at all levels up to and including undergraduate. For the last thirty years I have worked with individuals who are often unable to access mainstream provision, often tutoring 1-to-1 in their own homes. This has required me to become familiar with all domestic examination boards syllabi (including IGCSE and Salters), designing individual learning plans and negotiating their successful delivery.
Tutoring Approach:
I always expect my students to do their best. That's all anyone can ask! I try to relate course content to any hobbies or activities that an individual particularly enjoys.
With patience and understanding the learning journey can be completed successfully. The majority of my candidates get the grade(s) they require, others do even better!
