Personal Description:
I am the author of five textbooks, all published by Routledge - 'Leadership: Performance Beyond Expectations', 'Leadership: A Critical Introduction', 'Emotional & Irrational Investing' and 'Charismatic Leadership: The Role of Charisma in the Global Financial Crisis'. I am a professional academic & writer, and I currently lecture on an MBA programme for a leading European institution, alongside co-managing a finance company. I am also a Research Officer.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught for many years in both sports and business faculties, from A level to undergraduate, pre-Masters, Masters, MBA and PhD level. I have also presented at a number of European and international academic conferences and hold a PGCHE (Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching in Higher Education). Having previously led the research studies stream at a leading HE institution, I am well placed to tutor in both business/mgmt, leadership, sports, sociology and research methods related areas.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching specialisations fall into three broad categories:
- business/management (with a specific expertise in leadership studies):
- research methods, including dissertation and theses support
- sport studies and sport science/anatomy & physiology
I believe in encouraging a passion for learning in my students and feel that there is always a way of helping students connect personally with a subject.
