Personal Description:

I am a university student studying physics with astrophysics. Throughout secondary school I excelled at physics, maths and chemistry achieving top marks in these subjects. At GCSE level I got A*'s in maths, additional maths and double award science. At A-level I got A*'s in physics, chemistry and maths. I was top of my year in physics, chemistry and maths in St Patrick's Academy Dungannon, a school with a reputation for academic excellence. I received numerous awards for my A-level results.

Teaching Experience:

I believe I am extremely well equipped to be a good tutor. Throughout secondary school and even at university friends have approached me asking me to explain certain topics to them that they were struggling with. I have always been able to do this very effectively. Last year was my first year of tutoring and despite my inexperience all of my students were extremely satisfied. One student who started lessons in February went from a D to an A in physics. By and large the earlier my students started the bigger the improvement was made so I would thoroughly recommend starting early!

Tutoring Approach:

My academic success proves that I myself have a great understanding of physics, chemistry and maths and it would be my approach to ensure the student shares this understanding. I consider it more important that the student understands a particular topic as opposed to rope learning a topic. I also consider myself to be patient enough to continue working with anyone until they fully understand a topic. I encourage a working environment where the student can ask whatever they want not matter how insignificant they may feel the question.

Qualifications:

• A level A* in maths, chemistry, physics and economics
• GCSE A* in double award science, maths, additional maths, RE and business studies
