Information About Laura:
Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable lady with a strong academic background. I graduated from Nottingham University with a degree in Psychology before training to become a Chartered Accountant with a small local firm based in Essex. I am a qualified ACA with first time passes. I worked in the profession for several years, gaining experience in all aspects of accounting with both the small firm I trained with and later with Ernst and Young in London. After a few years I became interested in training others and worked for a training consortium in London providing technical updates and running residential training courses for our member firms. After having children, I decided to pursue a career in teaching and worked in a secondary school for five years before moving on to teach in the FE sector.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught GCSE Accounting and Psychology in adult community colleges.
I have taught GCSE Business Studies and A Level Accounting, Business Studies and Psychology in a mainstream secondary school.
I am currently teaching AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4 at two FE colleges.
I am a fully qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status.
I also have an assessor award.

My aim is for students to enjoy their learning.
