Personal Description:

I am a 22 year old graduate of the University of York in French and Spanish language and English linguistics. I have recently started work in Lincoln at the UK branch of the French haulage company, Transports Capelle. However, this role does not require me to use my Spanish language skills. I am therefore looking to find a way to keep up my Spanish language skills, given I will not be able to use these skills at work. This is why I am looking for the opportunity to become a Spanish language tutor. I consider myself to be a hard working, dedicated and approachable person who can speak both French and Spanish to a very competent level. Based in the Newark-upon-Trent area, my objective is to help local students of all ages and levels develop and perfect their Spanish language skills through using my own experience of GCSE, A level and University Spanish studies.

Teaching Experience:

As a requirement of my degree I spent 6 months living, studying and teaching in the northern Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela. During my time in this beautiful and historic Galician city, I worked part-time for a local academy which taught English to Spanish students at local schools. My role was to teach English to groups of Spanish children aged 5 - 12 through using vocabulary and grammar exercises, as well as fun games which would allow to the children to learn the basics of English whilst enjoying themselves and working in groups.

Although this experience was very challenging, I feel my time working for this Spanish academy not only gave me vital first hand experience of the challenges, difficulties and joy of teaching a foreign language, but it also allowed me to perfect my own ability to communicate with my students in Spanish.

Tutoring Approach:

I will adapt my tutoring style to the individual needs and requirements of those who wish to study Spanish. I have studied Spanish at all levels and can therefore adapt my teaching style to those who are at different levels of their studies.

Qualifications:

• 1st Class Honours: BA French, Spanish and English Linguistics
• As: French and Spanish at A Level
• A*s: French and Spanish at GCSE
