Personal Description:

I am a qualified language tutor based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, with over 15 years teaching experience in German and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am bi-lingual in English and German, and am also fluent in Turkish and conversational in Russian. I am a patient and enthusiastic teacher with an in-depth knowledge of other cultures, having worked and studied in over 8 countries, including 12 years in Germany and I have spent over 6 years living in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe working in the development and aid sector.

I have a BA (Hons) in German from Manchester University and from May 2022 I will have a Postgraduate in Translation Studies (German) from the Open University.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 15 years experience living, studying and working overseas in various countries, teaching and coaching in the English language. Over the last year I have worked as an English Teacher at a private language school in Brighton, taught ESOL and German at an Adult Education College in Uckfield as well as teach students privately in my home or theirs IELTS Preparation, ESOL, Working English, A-Level German, GCSE German, Beginners German and Travel German.

I hold a CELTA, a PTLLS, a BA (Hons) in German and an MSc Economic Development from the LSE.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer one-one and small group lessons, which are carefully tailored to your language learning needs. For example, I tutor in examination preparation ranging from IELTS to A-level and also teach ESOL, following the national curriculum. Of course, if you simply wish to brush up on your skills in either (or both!) languages for perhaps travelling or everyday survival purposes, I can design a curriculum specifically for this. I also offer lessons over Skype. I can teach in the comfort of your own home (within a 10 mile radius)
