Laura - Dunblane tutor

Information About Laura:

Personal Description:

Having lived in France for 6 years, I am passionate about France and the French language and enjoy helping others to appreciate it as much as me. This led me to train as a High School French teacher, and I love my job!

Teaching Experience:

I have been qualified and working in Scottish schools since 2008. I completed both my PGDE and BA Hons in French and English at the University of Strathclyde. I teach pupils from Primary 7 to S6 and am solely responsible for preparing them for National 4 and 5 as well as Higher French. I have also worked in 2 Primary schools in France for 1 year, as a Foreign Language Assistant and am comfortable working with a range of age groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I like tutees to feel comfortable working with me, and encourage them to ask questions and communicate. I promote a positive and relaxed learning environment. I have experience of working with a range of abilities, and strive to get the best possible out of each tutee. I build confidence and skill using a range of resources and techniques, and tailor every tutoring session to match with a tutee's personal aims and requirements. I keep up to date with current developments in education through preparing my classes for their exams and through developing materials and this is experience which benefits my tutees.
