Personal Description:
I am an English teacher with experience of working in a state school and an independent school; I am a Senior Examiner for GSCE English Literature with 16?years experience, and I have been tutoring students continuously for 23 years.
Teaching Experience:
Valentines High School, secondary school in Essex, teaching English and Literature from years 7-13 and sixth form tutor.
Forest School, independent school in London, teaching English and Literature from years 7-13, 1st year form tutor and fourth year form tutor.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is focussed on increasing my student's confidence with English; I encourage an engagement with the language and subtext of a piece thereby facilitating an understanding which in turn helps the student to perform better in written responses. As an examiner I am able to use my perspective to better assist my tutees to develop their abilities for assessment.
