Personal Description:

I have a wide experience of teaching English and Maths and preparing children for entrance exams for 7+, 11+ and 14+. I have a very high success rate and annually I achieve a good number of scholarships for my students.

I completed a degree in science before qualifying as a solicitor (a profession in which I worked for 20 years) before returning to university to undertake a teacher's training course. Following this, I continued working as a teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have been preparing children for entrances exams, and to meet specific targets, including keeping up and advancing with school work and passing exams for over 15 years.

I have taught in local schools and at a local college.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a wide experience of teaching English and Maths and preparing children for entrance exams for 7+, 11+ and 14+. My approach is to look at what the child is achieving and compare this with their potential, which I assess over a number of weeks. I then prepare a teaching plan, upon which my lessons are based to help the child the match their achievement with their potential. Where a particular school or schools are identified by parents. I ensure that I prepare the child to meet the requirements of the particular school or schools. I undertake regular assessments to ensure that the child is meeting golds set. I work closely with parents and I make myself available to regularly update and advise them where this is necessary.
