Personal Description:
After completing my A Levels I studied BA Arabic and Linguistics (University of Westminster) and then a BA Islamic & Religious Studies (University of Leeds). I completed these subjects finishing top of my class and received a special award for submitting the best dissertation across the whole of my department for which I received a distinction. During my degree I had the opportunity to complete an accredited course in Tajweed al-Qur'an which I am also able to teach.
Teaching Experience:
I have, for several years now, taught children primarily aged from 5 to 15 years in varying subjects such as English, Urdu, Arabic and Religious Studies. I have also taught adults. I currently hold regular one to one and group tutorials wherein I teach girls and boys aged from 5 to 12 years. I have also taught Arabic to students at a local school.
Tutoring Approach:
It is my experience that both children and adults learn best when they enjoy a subject matter. The task of a tutor is as much about striking a passion for a subject in the mind of a tutee, as it is about good, solid and methodical training. My approach towards tutoring, therefore, is to create an atmosphere which is both serious and enjoyable. It is a must that a good tutor makes a real personal commitment to properly equip a tutee with all of the necessary tools to succeed in his / her goals.
I am experienced in conducting virtual tutorials and so would be happy to teach anyone using ''skype.'' These sorts of lessons can be just as productive as face to face tutorials and usually involve a mixture of video lessons, podcasts, online tutorials and power-points.
