Personal Description:
Hi! I am a friendly and patient tutor who is dedicated to my teaching and take pride in building a good teacher-student rapport with my students.
I generally teach school-going students and adult learners. Therefore, i can generate good learning plans for both kinds of students alike.
I am able to help students understand their work better and expand their knowledge in the subject. Lessons are planned and tailored specially for individual students according to their level and needs.
I always believe that one will benefit from enjoyable tutoring at an early age to enforce good foundations in their speaking, writing, reading and Mathematics skills. Therefore, I also encourage interactive and fun learning with my students.
Lessons for primary and high school students are usually in small groups, as students gain alot by learning from one another. However, students usually attend individual lessons with the tutor in the beginning stage to get them on track and ready for the group lessons.

Teaching Experience:
Worked with students in small groups of 3 to 4 to help develop their basic reading and writing skills.Filled out evaluations and reports to chart students' progress.Taught children a variety of summer camps like Beginning Reading, Study Skills, and Writing Basics.
Created lesson plans for all classes taught, including English, Grammar, and Vocabulary Development.Instructed students by presenting lessons and answering questions about the material.
Evaluated the progress of students and conferenced with parents about how their kids were doing.Worked with kids of all ages from pre schoolers through 5th graders, depending on the need.
Implemented pre-made lesson plans, helping students understand the concepts using a variety of activities

Watched children of various ages from new borns through twelve-year-olds when parents were out.

Tutoring Approach:
My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in tackling exam questions. My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and homework to check understanding .
I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs. Where appropriate I set and mark work, giving students detailed feedback so that they can improve quickly.
