Information About Chiara:
Personal Description:
I have extensive experience working with children of all ages, not only as a language tutor but also as a theatre practitioner. I have worked for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain as a peer learning facilitator, working with children of all ages and from all backgrounds. I have also worked both as a private tutor teaching GCSE and A-level subjects including history, maths, biology, english, french and italian. I also worked in a language school. I speak fluent Italian and French. I am devising and performing with my own theatre company. We collaboratively create and write our own pieces which we aim to tour with and already perform for various communities and in theatres and festivals.
Teaching Experience:
Giacomo: Part time in-house tutoring for four months. We covered a range of subjects at GCSE level including; maths, geography, history, English, French, biology, chemistry.
Global Village Language School: A range of clients of all ages (youngest 10, oldest 40), English Language for Foreigners, Full time for one year.
Annabel: 13 year old girl, tutored part time throughout the summer in English, Italian and French Language and literature.
Joseph: 16 year old boy, tutored in English language and literature for GCSE exams throughout the summer.
Mith: 17 year old girl - Skype lessons to help prepare for GCSE English literature and language exams.
Amparo: 22 year old woman - tutored English as a foreign language for Cambridge English Exams
Tutoring Approach:
I believe I easily gain student's trust as I can relate to them and aim to be communicative, fair, helpful, and trust worthy. I have a sense of humour which always helps bring student's attention back to the work at hand if they get distracted! I have worked as a private tutor for a family whose son was severely ill and found that experience to be of enormous value to me as I met a young man with huge courage and spirit, with whom I learnt many skills to help him focus his attention on the subject matter we had to tackle. Ultimately I love children and I find that so far, I have managed to really help them with their studies!
