Karina - Kennington tutor
Information About Karina:
Personal Description:
My name is Karina, and I am a qualified teacher having completed the graduate scheme Teach First, and passed with Outstanding. My experience within the classroom has helped me adapt my teaching style to each individual. I understand that each student has their own needs and struggles, and may benefit especially from private one-to-one tutoring.
I now work as a Digital Consultant in the Health & Public Service. Even though I no longer work in the classroom, I am keen to continue to support students in their studies for their GCSEs and A Levels.
My own education has shown me excellent tutoring and teaching methods, and has compelled me to provide a similar, excellent tutoring experience. I was first educated at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton (a top 10 Independent School), which allowed me to experience a variety of different teaching methods from all disciplines. From this, I have been able to study at a top 10 university, specialising in the subject that most appealed to me at school.

Tutoring Approach:
Before the first session, I will attempt to understand the certain topics the student requires help with, and prepare materials ready for this session. For every session, I will bring along materials, past papers, exam questions, presentations and videos to go through with the student. Where relevant, I would like the student to complete a full exam paper where I can understand the topics that the student is struggling with. Feedback on these exam questions is essential, and I will work to understand why the student is struggling with the problems, and build on the methods they are already using to answer the problems.
