Personal Description:

Previously worked in a business environment for 29 years, coaching, training and mentoring skills and behaviours.

I recently changed my career to specialise in teaching Business English and tutoring for IELTS exams as this is the type of work I enjoy the most.

Now offering tutoring to children and adults wanting to improve their English Language skills or pass various English qualifications.

I am happy to undertake tutoring on an individual basis, or in small groups of up to 4 people. Lessons can be undertaken at my home, or at the student's address.

Teaching Experience:

Coaching, training and mentoring roles in my previous career in the financial industry.

Conversational English lessons given (including for business purposes) at my second home in Spain.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are very much structured to an individual's requirements. These can range from fun-based activities to structured grammatical exercises, but usually combine a variety of methods. Lessons include all four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing to teach both vocabulary and grammar.

My main priority in teaching is to keep the lessons interesting and fun as this will assist the learning process. However, homework is very important as this helps to confirm the student's understanding and will also assist in progressing more quickly.

Qualifications:

• TEFL/TESOL Certificate (including Grammar Awareness and Teaching Business English courses).
• 3 A Levels in Statistics, Economics and General Studies
• 8 O Levels including English Literature and English Language
