Information About Laurence:
Personal Description:
I was born in France and lived there for 25 years before moving to England where I completed a postgraduate diploma and subsequently worked as a civil servant. This is also when I met my husband.
Following the birth of my children in 2001, 2003 and 2006, I left my demanding job and got involved at first in French groups for pre-school children before starting tutoring students for French GCSE.
As I am helping at my children's primary school, I hold a current CRB check.
Teaching Experience:
After teaching beginners French to young children for a few years, I now specialise in tutoring students at GCSE. I am fully conversant with the GCSE syllabus and it is currently, by choice, my sole area of tutoring.
Tutoring Approach:
I begin first by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses. I have a flexible approach and will base the lessons/exercises around the current topics covered at school (i.e.: environment, education etc) using my own materials. I retain a strong focus on the different exams (oral, writing, listening) required throughout the year for French GCSE, and provide mock exam practice for my students.
