Humaira - Ilford tutor
Information About Humaira:
Personal Description:
I am a UK qualified pharmacist who graduated with a first class honours from University College London. I am a very adaptable person and can get along with all types of people. Being a confident speaker gives me the ability to excel in leadership roles and I am able to thrive both individually and as a team player. I have taken part in many mentorship schemes where I have helped younger students academically and socially. Being a young tutor gives me an advantage as I know and can relate to the demands young students are put under and can help them deal with this and their studies.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience in tutoring at a Tuition centre where I tutor primary school children up to A Level students, in all the main core subjects; Mathematics, English and Science. I really enjoy tutoring as it gave me a huge sense of satisfaction and pleasure teaching students the way I would like to be taught.
I also carry out teaching in my pharmacy career to pre-registration students and MPharm students.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to tutor in ways the student feels comfortable and in a way they can learn the best. I usually like to teach in interactive ways where the student can absorb what they are learning, and actually understand the content, rather than just memorising it. The lesson is student-led so they can take charge of their learning and how they feel they learn best. Usually there are two parts in a lesson; the first being where the topic is introduced and the content is revised or taught, and the second part is where they would practise questions, preferably exam questions, so the student has an idea of what questions could be asked in an examination. This would then consolidate their learning. Also, in the past I have found that students know all the content but find it hard to gain all the marks in an exam question. Therefore, by giving them model answers and being taught HOW to answer questions will give the student key exam skills.
