Information About Millie:

Personal Description:

Hello,

I am a Biomedical Sciences graduate and am currently studying at Imperial College London for my Masters in Reproductive and Developmental Biology with the hopes of starting my PhD next year.

I live in Hertfordshire but commute, by driving, daily to Hammersmith Hospital to study.

I am the oldest of 3, with my youngest sibling being 11 years.

I am very approachable, enthusiastic with a love for my subject. Ideally I would suit a child in their GCSE's or A Levels who needs support with information which is out of grasp for parents.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring children locally; family and friends.

This summer I worked at a residential for children aged 13 - 17 years.

And, I have run a group on Fridays for children on/off for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I honestly believe the best way to get across to children is by using analogies and diagrams. With my sister I try always to relate the subject we are going over to something she would understand, whether that may be her favourite band, or clothing, or a sport.

I teach biology and so much of biology is new information, unlike english and maths you aren't building on knowledge so it must be kept interesting.

I also believe that practice papers are the best way to learn. I don't believe that practice makes perfect, I believe perfect practice makes perfection and if you know how to answer a question, how to pick apart the question and know what the examiner is looking for then you are half way there.
