Personal Description:

My name is Neelam. I am a fully qualified teacher, safeguarding trained and am DBS checked. I am motivated, hard working, and passionate about the learning and welfare of children. I am pro active and creative and I bring a lot of fun to learning whilst providing an appropriate, balanced and challenging curriculum to support those who require it.

My prices are listed, but I offer a discounted rate for two hour sessions, for people willing to travel to my house.

Teaching Experience:

I specialise in primary education but have many years experience in tutoring secondary subjects and A-levels. I completed my Bachelor of Science Primary Education degree at Leeds Metropolitan university, where I studied for 4years and successfully completed several placements in primary and secondary schools.

I have over 8yrs teaching experience - across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I also have 10+yrs experience in private tutoring; 5 years of that tutoring was for entrance exams/ 11+ exams.
I have supported children with special needs, such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, ADD etc.

Tutoring Approach:

I encourage the social and moral development of children, through being a positive role model and building trusting relationships. I have also worked closely with the parents of these children, providing detailed feedback, information on targets and ways in which these can be achieved, and ensuring we work together to help the children achieve their targets, thus establishing productive relationships with them.

I recognise that greater results are achieved when there is a strong relationship between teacher and child. I also appreciate that all children have different needs and learning styles and so spend a lot of time tailoring my sessions to each individuals requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bsc Hons Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status
• A levels in Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry
• 10 Gcse's A*-B grades
