Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Susanna and I am in Year 13 at Wallington High School for Girls. I achieved 14.5 A*s at GCSE (English Literature, English Language, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, Business Studies, Food Technology, Latin, German, Chinese, RS, ICT and Citizenship). At AS level, I achieved 5As (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Mandarin) and I am predicted to achieve 4 A*s at A level. I am actively involved in school life, having been Head Girl as well as Orchestra Leader. I have applied to study Medicine next year, and I have offers from Cambridge, UCL and Imperial College London.
Teaching Experience:
I have participated in a mentoring scheme at school, where I have provided one-to-one tutoring for a Year 9 student in Maths. I have also had experience teaching English as a foreign language to students in a summer school in China. The additional challenge of the language barrier particularly improved my teaching skills and helped me to become a much more concise tutor.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a flexible and attentive tutor, so I will tailor my approach to each individual. I can use my own recent experiences to provide relevant advice about course content and study techniques. Above all, I am friendly and approachable, creating a positive learning environment where dialogue is encouraged and learning is enjoyable.
