Isaac - Streatham tutor
Information About Isaac:
Personal Description:
I am a professional accountant with PTLLS Level 4 teaching qualification, and I deliver excellent, high quality teaching with tremendous motivational effect, and all my students have loved and praised my teaching methods and style. I am passionate about teaching and nothing thrills me more than imparting my knowledge to others. I taught some A Level Accounting students, whose school teachers predicted they would each achieve a grade D, but with my one to one, personal high quality and methodical teaching, they achieved either grade C or above.
Teaching Experience:
November 2014 to date: Richmond upon Thames College, Egerton Road, Twickenham TW2 7SJ
I am currently delivering AAT Level 2 & 3 Accounting including SAGE Accounting and Advanced Spreadsheets for the Level 3 Synoptic Assessment at Richmond upon Thames College, where I have been achieving pass rates in excess of 90%.
Currently I am also a part-time Accounting Lecturer at the College of North West London delivering AAT Level 3 teaching.
September 2015 to 2017: West Thames College, London Road, Isleworth, Middlesex TW7 4HS
At West Thames College I also taught AAT Level 3 including Costs and revenues, Indirect Tax and professional Ethics.
From April 2010 to date:
In addition I have also been a private accounting tutor on one basis for individual students taking the following Accounting Examinations:
- AS & A2 Accounting
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) at all levels
- ABE (The Association of Business Executives) certificate, diploma & Post-Graduate levels Accounting
- BA Business Accounting
- Business Studies Accounting Modules and
- ACCA Foundation Level Accounting Papers F1, F2 & F3.
April 2010 to March 2012 - Stanfords College UK, Norbury, London and London College of Wimbledon.
I was a freelance, part-time Accounting Lecturer at the above named colleges, teaching ABE (The Association of Business Executives) Introduction to Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Corporate Finance Papers within the Diploma Levels courses, and ACCA Papers F1 - Accounting in Business, F2 - Management Accounting and F3 - Financial Accounting.
July 2008 to April 2010
I supported a young student who was studying for BA Business Accounting at the university by tutoring her in the Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis and Corporate Finance subjects. As a result, she achieved a 2:1 Grade. It is pertinent to note that the young student did not have any prior knowledge in Accounting. She took A Level Drama, but changed to do Accounting at the university, which makes her achievement much more remarkable.
Tutoring Approach:
In my current role as an Accounts Lecturer, I have adopted a methodical approach to my teaching. The preparation and use of scheme of work, session planning, syllabuses, timetable, lesson notes and handouts helps me in presenting my lessons in an organised and logical manner, and ensuring that the syllabuses are substantially covered. I am confident and positive in my teaching and able to build confidence in the students themselves, which helps in achieving the learning objectives set for each lesson and thereby achieving the overall objectives of the course. I adopt a mixture of pedagogical and andragogical approach to my teaching. I thoroughly explain first to the students, demonstrate a couple of examples, then get the students to demonstrate their understanding, by getting them to do some work themselves.
