Personal Description:
I am a flexible individual who is extremely passionate about their subject. Sociology has an essential place within the curriculum as young people need to understand how to interact with one another in this ever changing world. In order for this to take place a high standard of innovative and creative teaching is necessary which I deliver within my teaching practise.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently Subject Leader for Sociology in my school. My determination and perseverance has been made evident during my teaching career, as I have been able to manage resources, in order to facilitate effective learning. I teach AS and A2 Sociology at the moment and have worked with undergraduate students within Keele University on gathering social research. I have also put on a range of conferences in sixth forms within the Staffordshire area.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching style is very varied as I use a range of different pedagogical techniques within my teaching practise. Individuals learn in different ways so it is important to try alternative ways of teaching to identify which method works best. Exam technique is very important in the lead up to exams as many students focus on their knowledge without applying it to the question in hand. Therefore I believe that exam technique is an area which needs a significant amount of attention during the run up to exams.
