Personal Description:

I am a friendly,reliable and hard working tutor with a proven track record of outstanding success and over 20 years of experience.
In the recent entrance examinations at 11+ and 13+ all my candidates achieved their first choice school; these included Haberdashers' (boys and girls), St Albans High School, St Albans Boys, Merchant Taylor's, Wellington College and Harrow. For the past 10 years all my candidates have achieved top grades at CE. Many of these students return to me for GCSE/ IGCSE examination preparation, also.
For IGCSE examinations in January my candidates achieved top grades (7-9) ; this was consistent with the results for previous years.
My IGCSE and A level candidates have commented on well prepared they feel for their examinations and I consider this confidence in their preparation to have been an integral factor in their successes.
You will find me to be well prepared for my tuition sessions and I will work hard to achieve the student's full potential, whilst building their confidence.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified and very experienced (over 20 years)teacher, working in a high achieving independent school in Hertfordshire, where I predominantly teach GCSE/ IGCSE and A level students. Previously I have worked in a local academy where I held a variety of roles, including Deputy head of science and Director of student progress.
As part of my role in that school, I managed and was lead tutor for the school's 1-2-1 tuition programme which was graded as 'exemplary' on inspection.

I have tutored extensively throughout my career and have an excellent success rate.This has included 7+, 11+ and Common Entrance for top independent schools, in addition to GCSE / IGCSE and A level.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that there are key success factors for students preparing for entrance examinations.
I work not only on subject knowledge, but also on what the examiner is asking and how to answer for optimum marks.
In addition, I work with the tutee to boost their confidence in their own work.
As the dates for entrance examinations approach, I also offer trial examinations and interview practice.
