Information About Hayley:

Personal Description:

I am a postdoctoral researcher in investigating dissemination of antibiotic resistance in the environment at the University of Warwick. I previously graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2:1 in Biological Sciences before moving to the University of Warwick to complete my doctorate studying the effect of tuberculosis in badger populations and potential control methods.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive successful experience teaching students one to one and in small groups at GCSE, A level and undergraduate level. I have tutored combined sciences, maths, biology and chemistry to A level and biology and statistics at undergraduate level.

All students have improved their exam results and importantly have increased their confidence in their subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring focuses on the needs of the individual student. I feel it is essential to build confidence in the subject area so that students are comfortable working indepedently away from their tutoring sessions. With the student I identify areas for improvement and the most effective learning methods for the student and focus on these. I always encourage students to attempt problems themselves before exploring concepts together to increase independent learning.

As well as Biology and combined sciences I can tutor statistics up to A level and applied statistical methods up to degree level.
