Personal Description:
BA (Hons) English Literature, PGCE English and Drama. Qualified, enthusiastic and friendly. I aim to tailor each lesson to be different according to each students individual needs and most importantly make it fun and at the same time build confidence and skills for learning.
Teaching Experience:
27 years in both Primary and Secondary Education.GCSE examiner, Reading and Literacy Leader Gifted and Talented coordinator, cross curricular literacy coordinator and worked extensively with Special Needs education, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, deaf and partially sighted children. I specialise in preparation for examinations, 11+, 13+, GCSE's and A level English Literature, Verbal and Non Verbal reasoning, Common Entrance and SAT's, spelling strategies, essay writing skills, planning, revision techniques.
Tutoring Approach:
I employ a multi sensory approach to learning, dependent on the childs individual needs and preferrred learning style. Each session is focused on a particular target and regular feedback is given to parents. I am happy to liaise with school in order to ensure the best possible support for each child.
