Personal Description:

I am a very experienced Music and English teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in seven different local authorities and have co-ordinated the music teaching across KSI and 2. I was involved in the formation of the Thamesmead interschool's band; this involved liaising with woodwind and brass tutors to co-ordinate the band's programme of events. We played in a Royal Park in London and at the London Marathon.
Children were drawn from 12 schools in SE London and Kent and ranged from 8 - 15 years.
I have been a recorder tutor for the ILEA.

I am fully aware of the National Curriculum requirements for English and have experience of teaching English to children with a wide range of abilities. I have completed the Government Training for 1:1 tuition and delivered the tuition to twlve pupils. I have also taught adults.

Tutoring Approach:

I can help with phonics, spelling, reading, writing ,grammar and structuring of essays . I also can help if English is your second language. language

I would normally give 30 minute music lessons for piano, violin,recorder and theory of music, but would give longer lessons if required. In music I tutor beginners to grade 4 in piano, violin,recorder and up to grade 5 theory. I tutor from my home for music.
If you have a keyboard I can also teach you .

Qualifications:

• Certificate in Education.
• Weymouth College of Education
• ITTT TESOL certification
• Grade 6 piano, violin and theory
