Personal Description:
I am a doting mother to a beautiful little boy with a huge passion for helping children reach their full potential. Frustrated with the bureaucracy that comes with full time teaching, I decided to go back to basics and do what it is I came into teaching for in the first place... to teach and make a significant difference to children's lives. I am a friendly, approachable person and get on incredibly well with children. I am incredibly proud to say I have taught hundreds of children to read and write throughout the years. I have taught children of all abilities from 4-11 and pride myself on personalising their learning experiences in order to make learning fun whilst achieving.
I have a degree, qualified teacher status and I am CRB checked.
Teaching Experience:
I was a teacher for 9 years in Birmingham schools. In that time I have had an extremely successful teaching career. In 2008, I was awarded Advanced Skills Teacher status for being an outstanding teacher. The National Assessment Agency observed me teach, spoke to colleagues, parents and children and subsequently awarded me with this status. This then enabled me to advise and support teachers across Birmingham with their teaching strategies particularly in the teaching of reading and writing.

Tutoring Approach:
Teaching is the best job in the world- unfortunately, as a teacher in school the 'teaching bit' becomes a tiny part of the job! I am now lucky enough to support schools with training of their staff, support parents with helping their children at home and best of all working with small groups of children on a weekly basis and watching them flourish.
I have a calm yet fun approach to working with children. I believe all children are different and therefore tutoring and teaching techniques need to be tailored to suit the needs of the individual child. I always ensure that children enjoy their learning and I feel this is vital in order to inspire the children to want to learn.
I do tuition for small groups (maximum of 6) in Moseley and Sutton Coldfield. Contact me for info!
