Personal Description:

I am enthusiastic and hard working individual who enjoys working with children and young people. I am offering competitively priced tutoring in sciences at Standard Grade, Intermediate 2 and Intermediate 1 and higher. I have a keen interest in Science and I gained A's in physics, chemistry and biology Highers and subsequently attained highly in the corresponding advanced highers for those subjects. I am currently a medical student at Glasgow University.
With regard to myself I am keen musician who plays in and manages a local ceilidh band also I practise Karate in my spare time and I am about to sit my 1st Dan Black belt.

Teaching Experience:

At the moment I help pupils in my local area with the subjects I mentioned previously and I am looking to expand and help teach students in Bearsden, Milngavie and the West End of Glasgow. Within in my local secondary school I regularly help within in classes to support teachers and to help students within first and second year who need extra help and support with coursework. I also have keen interest in sport coaching and I regularly help and coach with my Karate club and I am planning to sit various coaching qualifications given in cooperation with Sport Scotland.

Tutoring Approach:

When I receive a new student I quiz them on basic aspects of the course from all topics of it to gauge there strengths and weakness'. This allows me to build a plan of action and support for the student. In tutoring sessions I either review and cement any knowledge learned in class or I choose or the student chooses a specific topic to analyse where I help and explain any problems or key points.
I will test the student with the use of chosen past paper questions to give the student a real idea what is expected from the exam.
With respect to the past paper questions I will brake down the questions into the specific points, answers and steps that are looked for by an examiner.
My approach will hopefully cover all aspects of the course indepthly with ensuring that the context of the exam is kept in mind at the same time.
