Bea - Bristol tutor

Information About Bea:

Personal Description:

I am a writer and Masters graduate from the Central School of Speech and Drama, where I earned a distinction. As a professional in theatre, I am knowledgeable and passionate about english, literature, drama, film and media and I really enjoy communicating that passion to others. I am a friendly and open person and I am always keen to learn and discover new things too.

Teaching Experience:

I have a wide variety of experience working in schools and summer schools as a drama/english and media tutor and have worked with children and young adults from 5 to 15 years old. I have worked as a workshop leader at Hartcliffe College as part of the 'Aim Higher' tutoring scheme where I taught Shakespeare and I was a trained peer educator prior to university, working with young adults on a variety of issues from drug use to anti-bullying work.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe the best way to learn is in a relaxed atmosphere where it is ok to make mistakes and having fun while learning is actively encouraged. Learning shouldn't be a chore and I enjoy the challenge of making material engaging and accessible no matter what your age or ability level. Having recently been through the higher education system to post-graduate level, I understand the pressures of exams and essay deadlines but with the right strategies and a bit of help these things needn't be so stressful!
