Personal Description:

I am a qualified teacher and Spanish native speaker. I have always been passionate about teaching and I started teaching when I was doing my degree. Once I finished my degree, I undertook my Teacher Training Postgraduate at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2001.

Since I moved to Dundee in 2006, I have been working as a private Spanish tutor and Spanish/English translator.

I throughly enjoy teaching Spanish and during my years of experience I have taught conversational and grammatical Spanish, covering all ages, levels and backgrounds. Some of the courses taught: Spanish Club for children, Spanish for beginners, Business Spanish and Advanced Spanish. I have also worked at High Schools (S1 to S6) and preparing DELE and SQA exams.

I put a lot of effort in making the lessons fun but at the same time I make sure that students acquire a good level of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I adapt the lessons to the students' needs, among my students you can find University students, High School/Primary School students, professionals in the oil and food industry, in sports and medicine fields, pilots and flight attendants, teachers... families who aim to move to Spain or tourists.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a Spanish private tutor since 2006 in Dundee.
I have experience teaching basic Spanish for holidays, preparing exams for the different levels of Spanish (SQA exams or DELE exams) teaching general Spanish to families who want to move to Spain, teaching specific vocabulary/expressions to professionals...
I worked at High Schools in Dundee and from 2007 I have been working for the Tayside Language Center. I am also currently collaborating with a Spanish lecturer at Dundee University.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an enthusiastic and flexible teacher who prepares interactive lessons based on the student's needs and requirements. I encourage students to speak as much as Spanish possible during the lessons
I help out students with grammar, vocabulary questions, and their speaking and writing.
In my lessons I make use of a rich variety of learning sources: online resources, books, the news, Spanish films and documentaries.

I offer either one-to-one tuition or group classes
