Personal Description:
I am a 27 year old Drama with English graduate with 5 years experience working in various educational settings. I have a braod range of interests particularly literature and poetry, music, languages, construction and environmental studies. I have just returned from living in South America to perfect my Spanish.
Teaching Experience:
I have just returned from a year in Argentina where I was tutoring business clients in English as well as volunteering working with young people in the slum areas on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Prior to that I was woorking as an Education Officer developing environmental education resources and projects in primary, secondary and sixth form schools. I worked before that as a supply teacher in schools around the north east.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is flexible depending on the students and their learning style and levels of achievement. I like to concentrate on maintaining a students flow, providing them with work that is challenging but attainable. I believe in regard to languages an emphasis on fluent conversational ability is important but should be underpinned with a solid understanding of grammar.
