Ruth - Oxford tutor

Information About Ruth:

Personal Description:

I am currently studying for my postgraduate MPhil degree in English Literature at Oxford University, and recently graduated with first class MA Honours from St Andrews University in English and Medieval History. I am keen to tutor in English Literature and Medieval History. I have also had experience teaching English as a foreign language and am happy to tutor any age range English language also. I have worked with young people for many years; working at children's camps, volunteering with Riding for the Disabled as well as ambassadoring for St Andrews University and working with local schools in Fife.

Teaching Experience:

I have spent one summer teaching English as a foreign language for EF Language teaching. I have also been involved in the University of St Andrews Schools Liaisons Project, during which I tutored school pupils during their applications for higher education, as well as taking them to lectures and appropriate tutorials.

Tutoring Approach:

As someone who is excited and passionate about my academic subjects, I would hope to encourage those I tutor to learn in a stimulated and enthusiastic environment. I would hope to make lessons fun and inspirational, and cater specifically to the needs of the particular student. I would adapt lessons to the aims and ambitions of the student in mind. I am also prepared to be very flexible with regard to where the tutoring takes place. I can either travel to the student, or meet at a local coffee shop or similar.
