I am a locally based private tutor with many existing students in Swansea, Llanelli, Neath and Port Talbot. I am also a fluent Welsh speaker and teach many students from Welsh medium schools.

I have a BSc with honours in Mathematics and last year I graduated from Swansea University with a Masters degree in Mathematics and Computing for Finance.

As a qualified Mathematician, my aim is to make learning Mathematics as easy and clear as possible by taking the student from their own starting ability and develop their knowledge in preparation for the national examinations.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a tutor for the last 8 years and currently have other tutors working for me teaching various other subjects.

I work alongside the local English and Welsh Primary and Comprehensive Schools to ensure that I am fulfilling the requirements of their teaching structures as well as the need of the child.

Tutoring Approach:

I am sure that many of you will argue that Maths is a very boring subject and this is often due to a lack of understanding. Your child may also feel that the school classes move on far too quickly, and it is very easy to get left behind. My goal is to make the child feel comfortable with the subject on a one to one basis, and to encourage them to fully grasp a particular topic before we move on to another. I use many computer applications to aid my teaching and to make the learning process a lot more fun!

I like to use examples based on 'real-world' principles, therefore the student can understand the relevance of a certain topic.

Every child has different strengths and levels of ability in the subject. I concentrate specifically on the needs of the tutee and play to each individual's strengths. Since maths is an integarted subject I allow time for each topic to be fully understood before moving onto another.

I consider myself to be an approachable and friendly tutor. I like to get the best out of my students.

Qualifications:

• A-levels: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Computing and DT
• BSc (Hons) in Mathematics
• MSc in Mathematics (with a distinction in research)
