Personal Description:

I am very qualified and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Theory, currently working for the award of QTLS - specialising in ESOL, Postgraduate Diploma in Television Journalism, MA in General Linguistics, and BA in English and Literary Studies.

I have worked with teachers at William Sharp School in my previous role as academic coach to develop curricula that meet the needs of students. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them build confidence in their ability to achieve, both academically and socially. In addition, I have artistic and computer skills that will be an asset when developing class projects.

I have student teaching experience from Key Stage 3,4 and Key Stage 5. I particularly enjoy working with children/adults and careful preparation of lessons has allowed me to break down sometimes complicated concepts to simple examples that my young students could grasp.

Academic Coach
Provide academic support for individual students with outstanding coursework inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully achieve their potential and to raise achievement.
Assist in the educational development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head of English and class teachers.
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching.
Undertake other duties from time to time as the head of department and head teacher requires.



Tutoring Approach:

A highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic Graduate with some experience in teaching English to classes of pupils aged 11-19; and ESOL developing schemes of work and planning lessons in line with national objectives, while devising and adapting resources to suit students' needs.
