Silvia - Hove tutor
Information About Silvia:
Personal Description:
I am from Spain and have lived in Brighton & Hove for the last 16 years. I studied History at the University in Spain, however, I love languages, and especially teaching my mother tongue, as it is a very rewarding experience.
I am also a qualified teacher. I hold the QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) from the GTC (General Teaching Council) in the UK.
I do hold as well the PTLLS Degree (Preparing to teach in the Long life Learning sector) from the Instituto Cervantes and Goldsmiths University in London and the CLTA (Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) from the Instituto Cervantes (London).
Teaching Experience:
I worked as a teaching assistant in Varndean School during the course 07/08 and I have been very involved in teaching Spanish since then, either in Spanish clubs for children (after school lessons) or providing Spanish lessons to students of GCSE and A Levels and adults in private tuitions.
I am proud to say that all my students have reached their goals so far by working together, understanding their needs, motivating them and encouraging them to give the best of themselves.
Tutoring Approach:
I teach Spanish taking into account the learner's needs, and his/her goals to be achieved. I use different teaching approaches to help the student at every step of the learning process and provide the lessons developing the 4 key learning skills:
listening/speaking - reading/writing
The priority is to adapt to the student during the whole process to enable him/her to get the outcome requested/needed, while making the experience of learning a language enjoyable and useful.

- Bachelor of Humanities, degree in History
