Information About Carly:


Personal Description:

I am a 25 year-old teacher who lives in Cardiff. I have a 2:1 degree in English and Social Anthropology from Queen's University, Belfast and a PGCE from Exeter Univeristy.
I have lived and taught in Wales for the last 2 and a half years.



Teaching Experience:

I have a PGCE in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 with a specialism in English. I have taught English, Drama and History to 10 to 14 year olds for a year. In the last two years I have taught in a primary school and worked with children struggling with Literacy skills.
I am now doing supply teaching and am a Drama Facilitator- providing specialist Drama workshops in primary school.
I have been tutoring the same 3 pupils for the last two years.



Tutoring Approach:

I always try and make my lessons as fun as possible and incorporate the interests of the pupils where ever I can. I want to make those I work with see how the subject they are studying can be fun. What I really enjoy is seeing people's confidence develop as they improve in their subject.

I chat to pupils and parents and develop targets and work out ways we will go about reaching these targets. I always listen to the needs of my clients and am open to suggestions about ways they like to learn.
