Personal Description:
I have a degree in education and I have been tutoring (mainly for 11+) for the past 6 years. These sessions are very rewarding as you get to know the children's way of thinking really well. I have had very good success with 11+, with an average of 90% of my pupils gaining selective school entrance.
Teaching Experience:
I qualified with a degree in South Africa, and came to England 6 years ago to learn more about the English way of teaching. I have taught in both private and government schools. In the private schools the focus was mainly on passing 11+. I enjoy primary school aged children, and I have always achieved really good results with them.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe children must have fun when learning. If they are not having fun they will not look forward to it, and they will not retain as much. It is important that children have a relaxed and comfortable environment in which to learn. I have a specially designed study for this purpose, and all children have loved coming here.
