Information About Nicola:
Personal Description:
I live in York and teach French to A-level and beyond, German to GCSE, and Spanish at primary level. A former languages teacher, I have experience of teaching languages (including English as a Foreign Language) to adults and children of all ages. I also have good experience of working with children and adults with additional needs. I still work in training, but now run a national training programme for local authority and care provider staff. I enjoy languages and like to share my passion for them with others!
Teaching Experience:
I have 3 years of teaching experience in the UK and one year teaching English at university level in France. I have also privately tutored both in the UK and France. I have a current CRB check. Before I qualified as a teacher, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant helping children with Special Educational Needs.
Following secondary teaching I trained adults returning to employment. I now train local authorities and care providers.
Tutoring Approach:
I am able to differentiate my lessons to students of all ages, levels and abilities. I have particular experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs. I can tailor my lessons according to what tutees require, for example, conversational lessons for adults, or GCSE speaking test preparation for children.
