Information About Christine:
Personal Description:
I am 29 years old and I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with Communication Studies as well as University Level 1 and 2 in English Literature and English Language.
I have always enjoyed studying English, I love reading and writing short stories and I am up to date with all aspects of the Scottish Curriculum.
Teaching Experience:
I have been accepted onto the Post Graduate Secondary Teaching course in English at Strathclyde University but I have put this on hold until next year as I have recently had my second baby!
I have spent a lot of time in my local high school as a volunteer classroom assistant, particularly in First and Second year classes.
I have also been tutoring in English on a one-to-one basis since I left high school.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to get to know my students well enough to discover their strengths and weaknesses in order to establish the best way to tutor them. I keep my students, and their parents, up to date with their progress, often through written reports.
I like to build a strong relationship with my students so that they can gain confidence in their abiliy to learn.
I encourage my students to contact me, either online or by telephone, witth any problems they have outwith their tutoring session.
