Personal Description:
I'm a 25 year old University of Southampton graduate with a BSc Hons in Physiology and Biochemistry (2.1) who enjoys working with young people and would like to help them to reach their full potential through tutoring whilst simultaneously making it interesting.
Teaching Experience:
I have gained teaching experience so far by tutoring my younger brother and sister as well as the children of friends whilst they prepared for their exams, from SATS to A Levels.
I also have worked with children with Autism and other disabilities, helping to run a summer activity scheme and working in a respite care home. This involved reading with the children, learning makaton and using this with the children, drawing, painting and playing with them.
Tutoring Approach:
I am friendly and have a fairly relaxed approach to put the pupil at their ease and make them feel comfortable and willing to ask questions. I am patient and have a versatile teaching style and am able to think of many different ways to explain things to help the pupil to understand and encourage them to learn. I want to help my pupils to reach their full potential, making learning stimulating, interesting and enjoyable.
