Personal Description:
I am an approachable, friendly, easy going and patient person. I enjoy helping others learn and making learning fun, whilst at the same time nurturing high expectations in the pupil themselves and always achieving good results.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked as an English Teacher in an inner city Secondary school for over a year and prior to this I did my PGCE which involved placements in a variety of secondary schools and settings. I have tutored privately for three years and all of my pupils have improved their English skills and their confidence with the subject. I am fully competent with the current National Curriculum and skills needed in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and have produced some very good results at GCSE. I have a secure knowledge and understanding of my subject and have a strong passion for English - especially English Literature.
Tutoring Approach:
I have built successful relationships with all of my students- both in school and private, built on mutual respect and shared goals. My ability to relate to children and young adults enables us to work well together in a relaxed and friendly environment.
