Personal Description:

My name is Laura and I am 24 years old. I've just graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a degree in Law and Spanish. At the moment I am currently job hunting now that its time for me to enter into the real world!I am a friendly and sociable young girl who gets on well with young people.



Teaching Experience:

I spent a year in Malaga, Spain, teaching English as a foreign language within a primary and high school during 2006. Throughout my time here I also gave private tuition to many members of the teaching staff and their families. Whilst teaching in the schools I was wholly responsible for the class and therefore had to plan and prepare each lesson thoroughly to ensure that I delivered the best quality of help to the students.



Tutoring Approach:

As I mentioned above preparation of each lesson is a vital part of tutoring, as I have not experienced anything as difficult as trying to keep a class of 30 sixteen year-olds focused for an hour! However, although I realise the importance of ensuring the basic grammar is covered in order to succeed in any language, I also recognise the importance of building a child's confidence in speaking another language. Therefore, I feel I would be ideally suited to a tutee that needs that little extra bit of encouragement towards their speaking skills, as I only too well know how of-putting it can be in class at school when you lack the confidence to speak aloud.
However, I am completely flexible in my approach to tuition and if you feel there are certain areas that need more attention than others I will be only too happy to cover them for you.
