Information About Shalini:


Personal Description:

I am a final year student who reads Chemistry with Nanotechnology at Hull University. I aspire to graduate with a 1st class degree next year. I consider myself a very patient and tolerant person. I am highly numerical and analytical but at the same time, I am very sociable as well. Teaching is something I have excelled in and enjoy doing.



Teaching Experience:

I have privately tutored at all primary levels and secondary levels previously whilst studying for my A Levels and through university. I also have some informal experience teaching special needs children on a casual basis at a family-run school. As a registered supply teacher with the Ministry of Education (Singapore), I have taught all primary levels the following subjects: English, Maths, Science. I am familiar with the local curriculum as well.



Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy teaching and morever, aim to make my pupils' learning experience interesting and meaningful. I believe in the understanding of concepts rather than blind memory work. I make sure my students are able to apply the basics of any subject well as I progress on. I have regular assessments to encourage revision and make preparations for examinations easier. I also believe in the importance of motivation and support whilst I am teaching my students. I always stress the importance and benefits of higher education, especially for the students taking their 'O' and 'A' Levels.
