Personal Description:
I enjoy reading, travelling and listening to music.
Teaching Experience:
I have nine years teaching experience both in the UK and the USA. I have been tutoring on a one to one basic for six years. I am currently teaching GCSE and A' level English in a Further Education College.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to one to one tutoring is to ascertain the learners weaknesses and strengths. By so doing I am able to meet the learners need by focusing on improving the learners weakness. In addition I use the learners strengths as a means of motivation and encouragement. for example, if the learner is a competent reader but unable to spell of write fluently, I encourage the learner by showing them how well they are able to read and then use this to encourage improving spelling or writing skills. I also encourage learners to be independent and use their own initiative in discovering learning opportunities.
