James - Bognor Regis tutor

Information About James:

Personal Description:

I am a committed and creative person who takes great pride in raising the standards of learning for children. I am a new teacher, currently teaching a Year 2 class in the Portsmouth area. My goal is to deliver a professional and supportive service to children who may find learning in a classroom environment difficult, and as a result, improve their own self-confidence and attainment, primarily in reading, writing and mathematics. I am caring, approachable and sensitive to every child's individual needs.

Teaching Experience:

I had much teaching experience during my Cambridge University degree in Education Studies where I taught in a wide range of schools of children aged 4-11 years. I carried out further teaching experience during my Post Graduate Certificate in Education where I taught children leading up to both Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs testing. I am currently teaching in a local infant school and have raised the achievements of all children in my class. I also administer the Key Stage 1 assessment tests and understand the strain that it has on both teachers and children in delivering a curriculum which is both broad and rich.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that children learn best when learning is a pleasurable and enjoyable experience and where children are motivated through praise and reassurance. I am able to utilise all my teaching strategies through assessing children's individual needs and requirements and moving them on to the next level in the most appropriate way.
